The Plough Inn’s philosophy of supporting local food producers extends further than just the ingredients for our menus and we offer a fantastic array of Kentish drinks. Our 4 traditional hand pumps serve an ever changing array of high quality ales from the following brewers: Old Dairy, Gadd’s, Westerham brewery, Wantsum & Hopdeamon. A resurgence in the popularity of real ales (thanks in no small part to our friends at CAMRA) has seen some wonderful artisan brewers open for business over the last decade or so.
Sharing the love for variety we also offer ciders from Kentish makers, Hush Heath, Biddenden & Duddas Tun.
Continuing with the local theme we also serve Helles Belles from Werterham brewery, Curious brew lager & IPA from Curious brewery in Ashford.
For the drivers and youngsters amongst us we also support Owlet and Kingsdown from Kent, Fevertree from London, Frobishers from Devon, Fentimans from Northumberland. We also offer Becks blue, Krombacher, Westerns Ciders and Gordon’s 0.00% & Sipsmiths freeglider gin as alcohol ‘free’ options.
On the wine front we have included the following vineyards on our wine list: Chapel Down, Biddenden, Westwell, Woodchurch, Chartham & Hush heath.
Marianne’s favourite tipple is a gin or four so in the light of this she has sourced 26 UK gins that have all been tried & tested by her personally with their recommended tonics and individual garnishes.
Richard has more recently discovered the world of rums and has squeezed all 14 of his favourites onto the top shelf!
We also offer sharing platters from Wednesday to Saturday perfect accompaniment for a drink of two!
