Your hosts, Richard and Marianne, are the modern custodians of a venue that’s steeped in history. Our timber-framed ‘Wealden hall house’ was once home to smugglers. And today, we follow in their footsteps by hoarding away the very best cask ales, fine wines, and locally sourced ingredients for the sole benefit of our guests.

Awarded Kent Dining Pub of the Year in 2020, and featured in The Good Pub Guide in 2021, we’re the perfect place to relax, indulge, celebrate, or just while away the hours. So come and wet your whistle, whet your appetite, and unwind in our historic hideaway – ideally situated between Charing and Faversham, just a brewer’s hop, skip and a jump from the M2 and M20.
