Menu

Come in, tuck in

Feed your inner foodie with our award-winning cuisine, which is made from scratch in our kitchen using fine ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Well, why not take advantage of the local fayre when you live in the bountiful garden of England?

Our chef, Richard, has prepared a menu stuffed with old favourites and creative, contemporary dishes. And because everything is prepared onsite – from baguettes and brioche to burgers and bangers – our food is always fresh and succulent. It’s one reason why we’re AA-accredited with Two Rosettes, named Kent Dining Pub of the Year in both 2020 and 2021 and short listed for Muddy Stilettos Destination Pub for Kent 2022 and 2023.

If you have any special requests or requirements for your party, just let us know in advance. We pride ourselves on our service and will be more than happy to oblige. Bottoms up and bon appetite!

Sample Menus

Our menus change with the seasons – the price of using fresh, local ingredients – but you’ll get a taste below.

Belly up to our bar

Our cosy bar, complete with dragon tie beams and crackling log fires, is the heart of The Plough. And we keep it pumping all day long with beautiful beers supplied by much-admired local breweries. There’s not a bad apple amongst our ciders either, where you can pick from the very best Kentish producers.

We’re equally brimming with quality wines and spirits. We work closely with Page & Sons in Ramsgate to ensure we have selected vintages from the old world and new to proffer for every palate. Meanwhile, our top-shelf favourites are sure to warm your both your belly and your cockles.

Look out for our 30 gins – rigorously taste-tested by gin-connoisseur Marianne – and 14 rums, which all come with Richard’s personal stamp of approval.

You’ll discover plenty of alcohol-free alternatives as well. So pop in for a quick drink or stay a while in our welcoming, friendly retreat. Our beer garden’s a treat during the balmy summer months, too.

We’re busy at the best of times so please call 01795 890 256 to book a table and avoid disappointment, especially if you’d like to eat.

“Outstanding! A hidden gem in the Kent countryside.”

Blackboard Specials

Having grown up being told not to play with his food – Richard is in his element with this menu. Both he & Vijay bouncing their creative ideas around is a delight to listen to and even better when they are trying out new dishes – I happily volunteer as a Guinea pig! These are refined dishes, fully worthy of their 2 AA rosettes, perfect marriages of flavours carefully executed to give your palate a flavour journey to heaven and a piece of art on a plate to look at.

"The dinner was skilfully prepared and was outstanding quality. It was also extremely good value for the quality. Service is friendly and relaxed with a well coordinated team. I do not understand why Michelin have not given a red bib. It more than deserves it."
